Gentleness

Gentleness

“Be very gentle with yourself at this time.”

Over the years of writing a weekly newsletter there are times when a topic eludes me. There’s lots going on in my life so I’m sure there are subjects that I could pluck from my day to day living experiences. However, I have a high regard for the intuition that guides my writing. If the topic doesn’t feel right I save it for another time. I honor the fact that Source leads me to write what is intended for all of our greatest good. The message for Now is gentleness.

Gentleness leads to a course of kindness. The experience of a mild and kind nature or manner, of being moderate in degree, not being severe, and to live soothingly. A gentle tap on the shoulder is soothing. Being gracious, loving and honorable to all creation is compassionate.

First let’s explore self-gentleness. The manner in which we treat ourselves is our supreme priority. We are told that until we forgive ourselves we cannot forgive others. Likewise, self-love must come to us in order to love all other beings. This selflessness is often misconstrued as acting in a selfish way. That is not so. For when we don’t take care of our self, we cannot truly care for others. Especially as light workers and healers, our own care must become our priority. Be gentle.

This time of year we can be especially hard on our selves. We begin the new year with lots of enthusiasm and excitement, setting lots of goals, desires and resolutions. The beauty of this technique towards life improvement is that we learn to let go and allow it to come to us. Often times as we realize we’re not receiving what we desire we get frustrated. “What am I doing wrong, that I’m not getting that better job?” or “How come I’m not happier when I asked for fun and love in my life?” Pretty soon discouragement and self doubt as to our goodness and worthiness to receive this abundance creeps in. Be gentle.

Another aspect of living gently is the personal care we allow ourselves to appreciate. To live in the vortex of joy including rest, relaxation, and meditation are vital to be living calmly. Week-end chores and housework will always be there; time spent with children, loved ones and friends may not. I used to help our five young children put on plays, skits, and make forts in the living room. Pictures of those days show the cute things they did, and in the background was a pile of paperwork, or a couch with unfolded laundry waiting for me. The times and memories are priceless. And the clothes got folded eventually, too! Be gentle.

Our country has one of the shortest vacationed workers in the entire world. Americans fall far behind other European countries in the days-off taken from employment. No wonder we are stressed out, tired, depressed and over-consumed with success. Use your week-end to restore, revitalize and rebuild your psyche in the soothing calmness of your home. Many employers now offer “personal days”; use them. And don’t feel guilty about taking time for your self.

Be gentle.

Being compassionate to others beings is key to our spiritual progress. I’ve learned that letting a car cut into traffic ahead of me is fun. The big wave and smile from that driver is joy. Helping an older person with a package, letting a shopper with one purchase go ahead of me in line, and giving a Mom with little ones cut’s is compassion. Do you remember a few years ago how popular the “Random Acts of Kindness” were? That fad, along with the happy face and smiley face buttons were fun too. Those acts of caring were kindhearted, thoughtful and charitable. Be gentle.

Nature benefits from our gentle and humane actions for her. By honoring Mother Earth, her land, water, air, plants and growth we give compassion and consideration to our planet. The go green movement, recycling, awareness of global warming and each individual’s contribution to restoring balance tells our planet that we honor and admire Her. Pay tribute and give gratitude to Our Mother Earth for her life, sustenance and bounty every day. Be gentle.

The Archangel Sandalphon shows us ways to gentleness. Personally, I envision Sandalphon as a male energy. “His aura is a calming and cooling shade of turquoise, like the translucent tropical ocean.” Meditating on this color, or holding a stone of turquoise will heighten His energy. Be gentle.

Let us each use our words and actions to give kindness and gentleness.

Remember you are a powerful, creative and loving being. Surround yourself with gentle people, situations and environments. Love yourself with Divine Love.

I send this to each of you with love, kindness, compassion and gentleness,

Donna Rae

With the disaster in Haiti and surrounding country, let us send gentle love, the gentleness of healing love and light from within each of us, along with our spirit of love to the healing of all.
