Your 2010 Journey
Your 2010 Journey
For most of my life I’ve set goals and made New Year resolutions.
Traditionally my family and I do this on New Year’s Day. And for the most
part this works for me. While reviewing past years’ goals, desires and
methods of manifesting I found some interesting and important points to
ponder this year.
The holidays are a busy time for all of us. Between entertaining, shopping,
baking, special celebrations, decorating and running errands non-stop,
there’s not a lot of time left for self-care By the time January 1st rolls
around most of us are exhausted. And not usually in a great, motivated,
forward-movement mood.
For the next six weeks I’m devoting our Newsletter space to share ideas and
tools to start planning for 2010. Begin by pretending you’re going on an
extended journey next year. You’re going to be gone a long time, experience
lots of new events and meet lots of new people. You’d have been planning for
this excursion for longer that just six weeks, right? Statistics reveal that
most of us spend many more hours planning our yearly vacations than we do
our entire lives. I want to change that!
Let’s prepare for this journey to 2010 and beyond! The most amazing part is
we can choose where we go, who we meet, what we do and experience every day.
We can even create for ourselves a financial blueprint of our for the year.
We even decide how we’ll feel and our physical looks!
I have defined seven general categories of creation that we most often
create within. To begin defining this journey of creating your 2010 New Year
I suggest you use a note book or journal. Here are the seven topics:
Spiritual
Physical
Family
Recreation
Vocation
Community
Financial
The first step in this practical process is to choose what you want. I
suggest using a page for each category. I have chosen to start with these
common headings, however you can add or delete categories to suit you.
Let’s begin with the first topic of your choice; you can start any where.
Most likely as you’re reading this some ideas and desires have already
popped into your awareness. That’s an intuitive hit of a good place to
begin.
As an example let’s choose the family section. Perhaps you work long hours
and spend very little time with your family. And you’d like to have more
one-on-one time with your kids. If you and your spouse/mate both work maybe
you’re seeing a real lack of time together alone. Family reunions,
get-togethers, holidays and cousins getting to know each other are important
factors to a healthy family. Another aspect to the family theme could
interact with the spiritual; worshiping and/or studying together. There’s
also grandparents wisdom and knowledge as part of family focus. You get the
picture?
As you can see, the more choices and suggestions you add to each topic the
broader your thinking becomes. Thus you create more and more possibilities.
And you know, you can always re-choose, discard, add to these lists. Just
get your focus on things that feel good. When you begin to tire of a topic,
stop right there. Put your book down and return to it later where you’re
feeling fresh and focused.
It’s very important that _you choose for yourself. _I’m not saying keep it a
secret, just make sure you select what YOU want and not choices that will
make others’ happy at your expense. It’s time to take back your purpose.
Remember, this is your safari and your journey so be flexible. What have you
got to lose? Nothing! As you open to being more adaptable, your inner self
will expand and bring more creative thoughts and ideas to you.
As you get your mind out of your body and back into your brain, you become
the director of your movie. Your conscious mind is like the captain of the
ship and the non-conscious mind is the crew. As you are making these choices
you are directing your non-conscious mind to create for you. The
non-conscious begins to align with the Universal Law of Attraction and bring
you what you desire.
Next week we’ll further define and fine-tune your choices. I’ll be sharing
some tips and tools that will make your year a truly magnificent, joyous,
fun and happy year.
