Newsletter Archives Lessons From the Animals
Animal medicine guidance brings us closer to nature. In this day and age many of us are distanced from nature and her magical healing. Whether by chance or by choice, much of western society views animals as a curiosity, a nuisance, interesting from a distance, but not often in a personal approach especially for healing.
Living in the mountains of northwest Montana, I am aware of animals daily.
It’s common for deer, elk, moose, wild turkeys and even a bear to wander through our place. So it comes logically to me, to study their medicine messages and incorporate them in my life. And it’s become a pleasurable pastime to observe various animals in fields, pictures on billboards and pets and owners along the way. There’s a realtor in town called Beaglewood Realty. They have a really cute picture of a Beagle puppy on their For Sale signs. Every time I see that sign I am reminded of the loyalty, unconditional love and acceptance of every dog that I’ve ever had.
I’ve randomly (?) chosen three animals and their communication to study for this week. They are the jaguar, wolf and the coyote.
Jaguar symbolizes integrity and impeccability. What does this teach us in today’s world and how may we incorporate this idea in every day life? To work and live in integrity is to reside with firm principles and professional standards. In our home life, personal relationships and our work as we move through each day, we strive to progress with honesty, truth and reliability.
And walking through life in an impeccable manner means to live free from sin, as faultless and above reproach as possible. We receive blessings in life when we choose to live with personal integrity and walk through life in an impeccable manner. This may sound like a tall, tall order to pursue. As an example perhaps you were unwilling to pass judgment on another, or to be self-serving. You may have maintained your integrity in some situation where you could have easily misused your authority. Were you especially kind to someone or perhaps you performed a good, unexpected deed. Remember the movement of “random acts of kindness” a few years back? That’s a wonderful example of living impeccably.
To live with a resolve to do your personal best at all times, maintaining your dignity, devotion, compassion, and honesty. Another lesson from jaguar is to embrace
forgiveness of yourself, with an open and forgiving heart. Self-blame should give way to self love and acceptance of who you are. As you become more impeccable and use your integrity, you will thrive.
Coyote is known as the trickster. Sometimes he will be the master trickster who tricks himself. Often awareness of the coyote is an indication that a lesson is on its way. Sometimes we takes ourselves so seriously at times that we cannot see the obvious. When a situation seems to be going sour and down the wrong road, rather than berate ourselves, by seeing the humor in a situation lightens our mood and shifts our circumstances. Stop and think when was the last time you did something just because it was crazy and fun? Maybe you could add some cheer to a party, a group, or family gathering. By lightening up, looking at the positive side of things and having fun, you‘ll feel lots better about life
As you go immediately beneath the surface of your experiences, ask yourself what you are really doing and why? Are you playing jokes on yourself? Are you trying to fool an adversary? Is someone tricking you? You may have conned into believing that you know what you are doing.
Wolf is the teacher, the pathfinder, and the forerunner of new ideas to teach and share knowledge with others. The wolf also embodies an enormous sense of family and loyalty all the while retaining one’s individuality. A wolf’s senses are keen, a reminder to us to use all of our senses, not limiting ourselves to only our five physical senses.
By learning the Universal secrets of knowledge and wisdom the teacher is empowered to aid in understanding and sharing the Great Mystery and life.
This reminds us to share your personal gifts with others; your intuitive side may have an answer or teaching for others, or yourself. Many times we second guess ourselves, being timid to share a thought with a friend in case we might offend them. Times when I’m sharing my writing or information at a study group someone will say “I needed to hear just that!” That’s when I realize that speaking up and sharing is a blessing.
See your teacher within. Share your knowledge; it wasn’t gifted to you to be hoarded. By writing, lecturing and sharing information in order to help others through your understanding about life or their path. See your teacher within. Giving out of great truths may lift the consciousness of humanity to new heights; you just never know.
As I’ve written this newsletter, I suspect that the choosing of these three animals and their messages wasn’t any random choice. And so I’m pretty sure there’s a message for each of you receiving this at this time. That’s one of the enjoyable perks of my work.
It’s not really ‘work’ at all for me; it’s great fun and brings me much joy.
There are still openings left for the upcoming Aug 22nd workshop: Change your thoughts . . . Change your Life!
