FCB In Your PSI!

FCB in your PSI

“Faith, confidence, belief, in your product, service, ideas.”

This famous acronym was penned by Dr. Jim Parker, founder of Parker Chiropractic Research Foundation, Dallas, Texas. FCB in your PSI is a timeless tool for becoming a more valuable, honorable and admirable human being.

In today’s economy there’s a lot of concern and yes, worry, about job security. Over the past months thousands have lost their jobs, positions, and status within all phases of employment. I am led to share this with you today whether you are an employee, business owner, self-employed, retired, stay-at-home-Mom or Dad, student or teacher. The wisdom of FCB - PSI is applicable to each of us.

Faith asks us to examine our feelings regarding our company’s mission? When trust and belief are present our inner integrity is in compliance with our vocation. Is what you do honest, is it fair and is it reliable?

Confidence reminds us to observe how comfortable we are in our job position. As we become familiar with all aspects of the business, we also build poise and self-assurance. Looking no further than our personal job description is limiting and confining. The more you know about your occupation or company you also increase your own knowledge, at the same time creating expansion of your personal resume. As you cross- train and learn about other aspects you become not only more valuable to your employer, you also are better qualified to serve others.

Belief can be viewed as our conviction, loyalty and the certainty that the product or service we are concerned with is trustworthy. When we have accepted a belief of truth by our mind we then are able to share that principle. For example, were I not to completely and deeply believe that Reiki and Pranic Healing do heal, I wouldn’t be able to honor myself as a healer.

Products require that each person involved understand how your unique items or services may be serve a customer. I worked alongside my husband in his chiropractic clinics for over 35 years. I learned it was absolutely essential that our employees understood what chiropractic health care is, how the body functions, and what we could offer our patients. Much of the success of his office hinged, of course, upon his healing and talent, however the assistants attitude, belief and knowledge was key as well. We offered supplements, vitamins, supports, etc. I was amazed when I realized many years back that one of our employees had no idea what benefits certain vitamins had or how they could benefit patients. In many offices, cross training is essential. When you get the opportunity to learn another position or receive training outside your immediate scope of work, take it! You’ll never regret it.

encompasses providing retail customer assistance, repair’s, overhaul‘s, tune-up‘s of equipment and products purchased from your business. In a service related industry such as health care, tourism, restaurants, etc., empathy, patience, kindness, courtesy, and a caring bedside manner is a must. Greeting clients or customers with a smile, hello, eye contact, a kind and sincere greeting can literally make a business prosper. Following up a sale or service with an honest ‘thank you’ and again, eye contact feels so good to all of us.

Service

To expand and provide more options I am continually looking for ways to give more to my clients. A staff meeting might bring to light more complete services, ways and products you can add to your business or company. Can you add more to the value of what you provide? Educating your customers and clients about what you do is also a great benefit. A great idea for technology would be free training on how to best use what I just bought!

Ideas to develop and prosper your occupation may also come from satisfied customers, friends and your personal review of your products for fresh, new ideas to your employer or regulars. As a business owner it’s wise to keep abreast of new products and new training in addition to up-dating your equipment or store, keeping it fresh and clean. These points add to creation of an inspirational, creative atmosphere and expansion of unique ideas.

The cornerstone of the Rotary Foundation is “The Four-Way Test”.

Of the things we think, say or do ask yourself:

“Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

“’I AM‘ as a Light worker, intending to live by my FCB in our PSI”
